The past year has had significant negative effects on children and families around the Greater Sacramento Area and across the Nation. Divorce rates have increased as well as the prevalence of anxiety, depression and suicide. Reports of child abuse and neglect initially went down as kids were not around mandated reporters but a new wave of children are now entering the foster care system.
Through it all, Defending the Cause continues to protect kids and strengthen families through our partnership with over 50 local agencies and nonprofits in addition to countless caring community members like YOU!
Despite the challenges and change in 2020, we have seen incredible generosity as hundreds of willing donors and volunteers have met thousands of needs. More families than ever before participated in our conference and workshops this year, we were able to bring leaders together virtually plus develop brand new online courses rolling out in early 2021. Even our staff has grown this year allowing us to connect more families with resources, unite organizations across the region, meet more needs and equip additional parents and caregivers.
There is far more to do and we need a village of individuals, community groups, businesses and churches rallying to support vulnerable children and families in the year to come. Because of an amazing group of anonymous donors, now through December 31st, your gift to Defending the Cause is matched up to $12,000. That means your impact goes twice as far! Will you join us in our mission to protect kids and strengthen families?
