Book Fair

For over 30 years Usborne Books & More has been a leading provider of high quality, durable books for kids from birth to teens. The Alliance has partnered with Kam Budwal, an Independent Consultant for Usborne, since 2017 to put high quality books in the hands of local at-risk and foster youth. We invite you to shop for great books for the kids in your life and Usborne will donate 50% of sales to purchase books for kids in need. Books will then be distributed through agencies and nonprofits that are Alliance members.

ASPIREKids builds resilience by providing access to extracurricular and normalcy activities to at-risk and low income children. To make this possible they partner with various youth and family service providers in El Dorado, Sacramento and Placer Counties.

CASA Placer trains community volunteers to advocate for foster kids in court to prevent abused, neglected, abandoned and at-risk children from becoming lost in the Juvenile Dependency/Delinquency Court system.

MEET OUR USBORNE INDEPENDENT CONSULTANT

Hi, my name is Kam and I'm your Usborne Books and More representative.  I was born in England and have lived in California for over 25 years. I have three children, a 21-year-old, a 15-year-old, and a 12-year-old.  I joined The Alliance in 2017 with a desire to keep foster youth reading so they can learn critical thinking skills, go to college, and find good jobs.

We have been achieving this goal by holding book fairs online and at local events and USBorne gives back a portion of sales to buy books to donate. Free books are distributed to local agencies and nonprofits working with The Alliance so they can be given directly to at-risk, homeless or foster youth. We want to supply kids with new and exciting books that are theirs to own and love.  I invite you to help us in this mission.
